Ovid Ti-83+ on TI-89 Signing Keys

Don't be fooled!

This project was abandoned sometime in October 2002. Don't email me asking about it. It is here only for completeness. Anyone who wants to do something similar to this project might be interested in GB68k. If you just want to download an emulator, I recommend MulTI, which does (almost) exactly what I was intending to do.

I recieved an email from Samir Ribic (the creator of Tezxas, a z80 emulator for the 89/92+), in which he said that TIonTI will probably be slow. Although I agree with him on most of his points, I disagree in that the emulator will be 2%-20% of the TI-83+'s speed. For example, he said that ZX Spectrm is 3-5MHz, and the 83+ is faster. Yes, but the 83+ is only 6MHz, 1-3 MHz faster than the ZX spectrum.

I still like his ZX Spectrum emulator.

I am conducting an email conversation with Michael Vincent regarding the interrupts and CPU ports on the TI-83+.

Non-News

I am currently writing a TI-83+ emulator to run on my TI-89. Since I own Hardware Revision 2, and am sick and tired of programs that don't run on HW2 with the latest OS, I am making my emulator to run on the latest hardware and software, so that everyone can use it. However, I don't have a HW1 TI-89 to test it on, so I can't say if it will work on that or any other ROM version (non-2.08). (Email me if you want to be a beta tester, although I will be a couple of weeks before I can get a compilable version)

I am basing the emulator on the one available at http://fms.komkon.org/EMUL8/ for the z80 CPU, which the TI-83+ is based on.

I may, in fact, create an emulator for the other TI-8x calculators for my 89, but don't hold your breath.
