Seattle Exchange - Lakeview

Past Development

1911

Lakeview office was established as "Kenwood" with CB type manual equipment.

1928

The second unit of CB type C.O.E. was started.

1939

"Sheridan" and "Vermont" prefixes established.

1942

"(Kenwood" and "Vermont" manual equipment was replaced by two units of No. 1 crossbar at 1208 E. 64th Street.

1947

The last manual unit in the Lakeview district (Sheridan) was cut into the Lakeview No. 1 crossbar equipment.

1957

Major building additions (lateral + 2 floors vertical) completed.

1958

2L-5N dialing established. Lakeview Toll Office established to provide toll and DSA functions for EM, SU, LA and ME C.O.

1961

DDD/CAMA established.

1962

Campus CENTREX (U of W) established (#5XB — W-I version) with ANC.

1965

ANI installed.

1967

Campus CENTREX cut to Melrose district.
