Sorry for the late notice, but today was the first meeting of a new student organization, the Critical Development Forum, founded by members of EWB.
Here is some information on what they’re all about:
Have you ever wondered why there are so many dedicated people working in development and such uneven progress? Do you wonder how YOU can change that? If so, come to the inaugural meeting for a new group rethinking international development! Kicking off the discussion will be Dr. Stephen Bezruchka, who has spent 11 years working on rural health in Nepal. He will share some of his insights and critical reflections on his own work. After general Q&A, we will break into small groups to critically discuss our own development work while at the UW and future plans. No international development experience necessary, just come with interest and an open mind!
The Critical Development Forum is a student group dedicated to bringing together students across disciplines to discuss the challenges and possibilities of development work. Together we can help rethink and reshape development.
