Brad Epperly, Department of Political Science
I am a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Washington, Seattle, studying comparative politics, political economy, and methodology. I have a background in Russian studies, and my interests include how institutions in postcommunist and other transition societies affect economic and political outcomes. My dissertation examines the determinants of rule of law reforms,
exploring the conditions under which laws come to be openly promulgated and fairly applied, and thus fundamentally shape new positive economic and political outcomes in societies previously plagued by authoritarianism and inequality.
