Ethics Bowl at the U.W. |
|
The Ethics Bowl is an intercollegiate competition in ethical analysis for undergraduates. Teams of three to five undergraduates are posed questions on a wide range of ethical topics. Team responses are judged for soundness of reasoning, focus on and sensitivity to ethically relevant factors, and deliberative thoughtfulness. The national competition, the Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl, is held in conjunction with the annual meeting for the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics. To be eligible to compete at the I.E.B., teams must advance out of a regional competition. Currently, the Northwest Regional will be alternately hosted by us and Whitworth College (Spokane, WA). We are always looking for students interested in becoming team members, helping with case preparation, or assisting in the planning and organization of the regional bowl. Please contact us at ebatuw@washington.edu or Cathy Yu at cyu@u.washington.edu for more information. |
