Bio

I am a University of Washington graduate student in the Quantitative Ecology and Resource Management department (fondly known as QERM). This is an interdisciplinary program that brings together faculty from statistics, applied mathematics, forestry, biology, fisheries, oceanography and marine affairs. I am working on my Master's thesis under Dr. John Horne in the Fisheries Acoustic Research Lab (FAR), part of the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences. This work is in collaboration Dr. Janet Duffy-Anderson and Dr. Carol Ladd with FOCI at NOAA. I completed my undergraduate degree in both Mathematics and Marine Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. I have worked on a variety of systems, but an emerging theme is oceanographic and biotic/ behavioral factors that affect larval transport in the ocean. More simply put, I'm interested in the who, what, where, why and how of tiny young animals moving in a big ocean.
