Constitution and Bylaws

Article I - Membership


Section 1. This society shall consist of active members and alumni members. Members shall be those individuals listed on the most current roster.

Section 2. Any student interested in attending meetings and participating in club activities must be a paid in full member.

Section 3. Membership and participation eligibility shall be encouraged regardless of race, sex, religion, creed or national origin.

Section 4. Expulsion of a member shall be initiated by an officer and approved by the student advisor employed by the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

Article II- Officers


Section 1. There shall be eight officers equal in authority and recognition.

  1. President
  2. Vice President
  3. Treasurer
  4. Public Relations
  5. Secretary
  6. Volunteer Coordinator
  7. Activities Coordinator
  8. Webmaster

Additional officers shall be accepted upon the unanimous consent of current officers and the pre-dental society advisor employed by the University of Washington School of Dentistry, or upon a simple majority vote of members/participants at an official meeting.

Section 2. Officers shall be elected by a simple majority vote of members at an official meeting held during spring quarter of each year. No individual may be appointed to office without a proper election, unless it is by unanimous consent of current officers and approved by the pre-dental society advisor.

Section 3. Any officer who fails to fulfill obligations mutually agreed upon by said officer and club representatives may be brought before the pre-dental society advisor for a review of his/her performance. If corrective actions are not observed, the advisor reserves the right to ask said officer to relinquish his/her position. The officer may continue to participate in club activities as a member in a non-leadership role.

Section 4. Officers shall conduct themselves as representatives of the society in all activities dictated by their office.

Article III - Society Activities


Section 1. Meeting shall be scheduled not less than twice a quarter, excluding summer quarter.

Section 2. The meeting topics, speakers and activities shall be determined by the officers, with assistance from participating members.

Article IV - Amendments


Section 1. - These bylaws may be amended by consensus of the current officers or by the members at an official meeting.
