The Undergraduates of Delta Upsilon donate time and money to various causes.
Besides the fact the we are doing a small part to help the lives of others, we at the same
time have the opportunity to feel better about ourselves by working directly with our community.
During the 2000-2001 school year, Delta Upsilon accounted for nearly 1000 hours of community
service and helped raise over $5,000 for various causes.
Beat the Bridge Run
On May 20, 2001 Delta Upsilon participated as a corporate sponsor in the 19th Annual Nordstrom's
Beat the Bridge Run Delta Upsilon had more than 50 runners in the 8k race, and the 1-Mile Fun Run.
By raising money and receiving pledges, Delta Upsilon raised nearly $1000 to benefit the Juvenile
Diabetes Research Foundation.
Delta Upsilon Barnyard Bingo
In Spring 2000, Delta Upsilon sponsored Gilda's Club Seattle
in our first ever Barnyard Bingo Philanthropy. This event entails setting up our back yard and
creating a gigantic bingo grid. We also include the help of a local farm, Stolz Farms to donate
a cow for the day. Between the grid and the cow, this spells for an afternoon of fun. Over 12
sponsors helped us raise nearly $1,000 for Gilda's Club.
Wallingford Boys and Girls Club
Every Friday, members of Delta Upsilon go to the Wallingford Boys and Girls club where we mentor
kids while having fun playing games. Also we have been invited to their Halloween Party where we
ran all kid's carnival games.
Montlake Adopt-A-Street
Several times a quarter the entire Delta Upsilon Chapter takes part in Montlake Adopt-A-Street.
Where we keep the street along Husky Stadium and the IMA looking good.

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission
Our newest philanthropy endeavor allows us to work downtown at the mission and serve food, get
people a place to rest, talk, sing, give spiritual help, and just get off the streets for a while.
Delta Upsilon Scholarship
Every year the Washington Chapter of Delta Upsilon give several scholarships to some of the
brightest, most well rounded high school graduates entering the University of Washington. We
were the first fraternity on campus to offer such a scholarship, and were also the first Delta
Upsilon Fraternity to offer the scholarship throughout the International Fraternity.
Tutoring and Clothes drives
Along with these things, we also have other diverse Community Service Activities that come along
whenever we have the chance. Also, our involvement in Sorority Philanthropies, such as AGD's Mr.
Greek, help raise thousands of dollars for local good causes every year.
