About CSA

Who is CSA?

The Chinese Student Association (CSA) is a Registered Student Organization (RSO) at the University of Washington that promotes cultural awareness on campus and provides a venue for sharing a common interest in Chinese culture and heritage. Our purpose is "to serve as a vessel for students through which to promote a better understanding and identification with the Chinese (Chinese-American) culture and heritage. It is our passion to act as a uniting force among all people and serve as a catalyst for position action among all." In other words, CSA is a Chinese cultural club which promotes understanding and diversity among not only Chinese but people of all walks of life and backgrounds. CSA does not discriminate and thus we welcome anyone who is interested in joining us.

What does CSA do?

As a cultural awareness organization, we host and participate many events throughout the academic year for students and faculty at the University of Washington and neighboring communities. Here are some of our most popular events:

CSA Dumpling Night
Lunar New Year Show
CSA Annual Ski Trip
CSA Spring Semi Formal
In addition to those, we organize and participate in community service (such as Relay for Life), clubbing events, game nights, off-campus excursions, ASC (Asian Student Commission) events (Side note: CSA won the ASC Talent Show and placed second in the ASC sports day last year!), and many more events throughout the year. You won't be bored at a CSA event!

The Community

We encourage interaction among members and finding a niche in the University of Washington community. CSA is dedicated to helping students getting involved on campus, as well as providing a fun and easy going environment for students to meet new people. We also work with other Asian cultural organizations, so becoming a part of CSA will get you in touch with KSA, JSA, HKSA, TSA, and numerous other clubs. Interested? Join us!
