Senate Reports

Previous December 4, 2007 Next

Greetings, League!

This week in Senate was rather single-minded, so this week’s update will be short.

There were two things discussed this week. Yoky Matsuoka attended the meeting to be congratulated by the Senate for being awarded a MacArthur Fellowship and to be recognized for her work in the field of neurobotics. More information on the resolution in question can be found at http://senate.asuw.org/legislation/14/R/R-14-7.html.

The second piece of business discussed was the Legislative Agenda. We discussed final amendments and voted to approve the agenda in a three-and-a-half hour Senate session. Hopefully the final version of the agenda will be available at http://senate.asuw.org in short order. Handling this final push to approve the agenda meant that all further business was tabled, and will be handled next week.

As always, I can be reached during my office hour (12:00—1:00 on Wednesdays in HUB S-31) or at snowg@u.washington.edu. Inform me of your opinions on legislation and issues I can bring to the Senate’s attention. Also, we still need signatures for our petition to renew our Senate seat.

Your Senator,
Gareth Snow
