Today was another rare day at Senate. We passed a resolution which I thought might actually have do something. I know, I spent most of the last report talking about how nothing the Senate does *actually* matters, but this is a special case.
We passed a resolution in support of converting the UW campus to Fair Trade Certified coffee. On its own, I don’t think this resolution would go anywhere. However, there is, unbeknowest to me previously, a Fair Trade coffe coalition on campus, which will hopefully use this resolution to strengthen their postion. So, the Senate can indeed have an impact if used in the correct way. However, if I beging talking more about how important the Senate is, please please someone come rescue me from my delusion.
Oh, we also passed a resolution in support of the UW volleyball team for winning some sort of championship. Go them!! At least one of our sports teams is winning. Last year, I dated a guy whose friend had a crush on one of the volleyball players and so we went to a bunch of games. They’re actually really intersting, much better than football. I would reccomend everyone go next season; it’s actually fun.
