Apologies for the lack of updates in recent weeks. Times have been busy, and I have been slacking.
Leftover business from last quarter:
Croquet attendance at Lobby Day 2005 was nowhere near what has been seen in the past. That is to say, only a total of five went under the banner of “Honors Croquet” while I did encounter at least one other member who attended under another organization. Naturally, we were no match for Team Senate who subsequently won the $400 Lobby Day Challenge. Thanks to those who came and attempted to have a continuous game of croquet throughout the day.
Night ride to and from the IMA is now offered thanks to a resolution last year calling for the creation of this route. If anyone ever needs an example of student government accomplishing something, this is it.
This quarter:
The quarter is still young and nothing too exciting has happened in the official realm of Senate. In the unofficial realm, the Vice-Chair (465) and I both participated in last week’s game of Assassins on opposing teams. We both also did not live to see the end of Senate as we set up ambush teams for each other. Guess I wasn’t kidding all those times I felt like I was going to die in Senate.
The All-Campus Tournament is drawing near, which means that I am in the early stages of drafting a resolution in support of this great event. I will attempt to push through a (friendlier) variation of the Yuri Barron clause that was struck from last year’s resolution written by Senator Emeritus Raz Barnea. If anyone believes there is something to include other than the obvious All-Campus information, let me know.
