Senate Reports

Previous January 25, 2005 Next

Finally, the first Senate report of the quarter. I figured it was time I give some evidence that I am, indeed, alive and no, I have not been shirking my croquet duty. Far from it, actually. The world of student government has not been too entirely exciting recently, and whatever may be considered at least a little exciting has been reported in The Daily. While I realize that some of you out there have your…opinions of The Daily, they do get the general message across.

In croquet-related Senate news, I was nominated to be the final member of Team Senate in the ASUW Power Struggle discussed in previous reports because I had “experience in croquet.” Voting will take place next week.

In noncroquet-related news but that may be of interest, Lobby Day is on March 1. As has been the tradition the past two years, the Croquet League has been attending Lobby Day to 1) play croquet at the capitol 2) talk to legislators 3) try to win the Affordable Tuition Now! Lobby Day Challenge (which we did in 2003).

Also, WashPIRG along with some businesses on the Ave are doing some fundraising for tsunami relief on February 1-3. The Pita Pit, Finn McCool’s, and Himalayan Sherpa will be donating their proceeds on these days.

Other than that, if you want to know more y’all know the drill.
