*Announcement*

After much thought, I decided to nix the idea of a croquet resolution in support of the All-Campus Tournament for several reasons. Time is a big one. Between classes and work, I am finding it difficult to take the time to write a decent resolution. Also, this resolution would be time sensitive and knowing the Senate process, I am skeptical that we will get to it before the deadline…that is, if it even makes it on the floor. I realize that stuff like this has come up in the past, but I’ve noticed this year that several resolutions have been voted down in Committee simply because they seemed “irrelevent” and never made it to first readings in Senate. Those that did were voted down anyway. It would be more productive to just promote the hell out of All-Campus through bold announcements and the distribution of flyers to every senator. It is also possible to ask the Senate Chair to yield some time to us so that we can have a more formal announcement of All-Campus.

However, if anyone really, really does want to see a croquet resolution on the table, be my guest and write it. It would have to be submitted next week. The resolution guide can be found on the Senate website. Just send it my way, I’ll sponsor it, and come to the meeting where it’s discussed and speak to it.
