- The state legislature is voting on tuition-setting authority tomorrow. If you read this early enough, call your legislators and voice your concerns.
- This is really important. I would definitely like your input on this because it affects all of us. This is about the credit card deal between MBNA and the UW Alumni Association. Two resolutions, (R-9-35 and R-9-38) for and against the deal, were submitted and will be voted on next week. Also, a pros and cons list was passed out to us that the sponsors of the resolutions wrote themselves.
- We passed the following: R-9-16 and R-9-31. We read a lot of other stuff today that you can find at the Senate website if you so desire.
- According to Brook (ATN!), they are still tallying the number of students at Lobby Day, so we still don’t know who won the prize money.
- Also, I will be in the process of writing a resolution in support of the Honors Croquet League All Campus Tournament (May 10) in the next couple weeks and during spring break. Essentially if this passes, we can say on our flyers and stuff that the ASUW endorses this event/activity for whatever reasons will be on the resolution. I’ve asked a fellow croquet member/senator to help me with drafting this. Anyone interested in co-sponsoring (must be an ASUW member) or have any input as to what the content should be email me or talk to me at the match on Saturday. On a side note--This may seem a bit out of place among all the other legislation we’ve had, but i figure if someone can write a resolution in support of a Pub in the Hub then why the hell not?
- Oh yeah, anti-war walk-out tomorrow. Meet at 10:30 in Red Square.
