I have a feeling that there are a whole host of croquet players out there thinking to themselves, “I feel like we haven’t played croquet in ages!” Well, we haven’t.

After a long February with no croquet (on account of the caucuses and the Executor directing a play / having senioritis that month), and an entire winter of bad weather and low turnout, we’re looking for a strong spring comeback to croquet. Our upcoming match will be Saturday, March 15 at 9:00pm. Yes, it is time for our annual night match, this year falling on the ides of March. Beware.

Newsletter-worthy updates:

• The HCL Swimsuit calendars should all be distributed at this point. If you feel like you have missed out on a once-in-a-lifetime event and desperately want a calendar, I have one or two left over that have not yet been claimed. For a mere $15, one could be yours.
• Our 8th Annual All-Campus Croquet Tournament will be taking place Saturday May 15th at 1:00pm. It will again be on Parrington Lawn. This event is the same day as the U-District street fair, and we will have two bands playing during our three rounds of croquet. That said, one of our desired bands can no longer make it. If you know a band or musical act that might be able to play at the All-Campus, please send them my way.

Finally, I would like to finish up with a reminder that I, your current and devoted Executor, will be graduating at the end of this year. If you are not yet a senior and would like to help out the croquet league next year (maybe you’re thinking of being an officer?), I would love to have someone assist me in planning the All-Campus, mostly to pass on the traditions to some younger folks. It’s not a huge deal, it just takes some logistical doing and it would be good for someone else to know how to do this for next year. If you’re interested, shoot me an email.
