Player of the Month: Dirk Heniges

Dirk Heniges (534) has attended a couple of matches in his day. In fact, he has attended exactly three. Each time, he manages to escape the camera, not upset anyone, not win much, and generally ride the croquet wave. This September however, Dirk made quite a splash.

It all began during his match when he got sent in the proverbial “drink.” Dirk had the challenge of getting back in the game after being sent across the Quad, and narrowly avoided ending up down the stairs. After the match, despite the presence of a 3-legged man, he boldly made a entry into the CFR Scholarship competition. He juggled three croquet balls with excellent form and variety, and told an original joke about professional croquet players. Nine out of ten HCL members agree: professional croquet players deserve to be laughed at more often.

After all that, Dirk secured his place in the forefront of the League by volunteering to be our new Webmaster. Even though Nick Addington (001) still holds the reigns of the website, Dirk has volunteered to give us tech support when problems crop up, updates need to be made, and the database needs to be fixed. For this sudden streak of dedication to the League, we name Dirk our October (September) Player of the Month.

Dirk is a junior majoring in Geography.
