Hello climbers!
The UWCC is subsidizing 2 belay classes to help members get ready for fall cragging (the annual Vantage Trip) as well as winter gym climbing.

There will be two different classes offered and they will be taught by myself (a long-time member of the UWCC). These will be open to current members only, so sign up for the club prior to the night of the class and bring your member card.

The "Basic Climbing Class" is for those with little/no climbing experience. This is a two part class and will take place Wednesday October 23rd and Thursday October 24th from 7-9pm each night. The cost is $15 and includes equipment and a belay exam. Class size is limited to 6 climbers.

The "Belay Techniques" class is an abbreviated version of the Basic Climbing Class and is meant for those with some prior belay experience, but would like have a refresher prior to taking the IMA crags belay exam. This class is one night only and will take place Wednesday October 30th from 6-8pm. The cost is $8 and includes equipment and a belay exam. Class size is limited to 6 climbers.

To sign up, post here with:
Your name
Which class you would like to take

Once you are signed up, we will be meeting up at the IMA crags front desk ten minutes prior to class. Just bring cash or check for the cost of the class.

Hope to see you at the gym or on the crags this shoulder season!

Val

It looks like we have three people in the belay techniques class. I will meet you all at the front desk of the IMA crags tomorrow. Bring your UWCC card and $8 for the class. See you all tomorrow!
