Meant to post this a while back, but kept slipping my mind...

While I tend to be critical of WTA's tendency to convert well-used trails into highways, while other routes slip back to nature, I'm ready to eat my own words for a work party at the end of June. WTA is putting together a backcountry response party for the Boulder Lake trail.

For those of you who are not familiar, this is a route that leads from the end of Tenas Creek Road to Boulder Lake and is a jumping off point for some very cool areas (Hurricane Peak, Chaval, etc.). Tenas Creek road washed out several years back and has been just recently repaired. Having spent a little time sawing out slide alder on it two years ago, I can say with certainty that the route needs to see some love.

WTA says this is nominally a 4 day long work party. That doesn't work for me and I'm assuming that it doesn't work for most of the other people in the club. That being said, they appear open to individuals or a group showing up for 1-2 days. The dates in question are June 24-27 (the weekend being 26-27).

I think it would be great to get a UWCC crew out to help on this one. Anyone interested? Great chance to earn some alpine karma.

I'd be interested just for the weekend if there are any other interested (and driving) people!

What's the status on this? Canceled due to lack of interest?

I'd like to be here on Sunday morning to watch Germany vs. England, so that would probably leave only Saturday for me (if we go at all).

I think we'll plan to sit this one out. Later in the summer, I hope to get up that way and will bring along a pair of loppers for anything they miss.
