Members of our club constantly travel to and fro the urban sprawl of Puget Sound and the volcanoes and mountain ranges surrounding us to the North, the South, the East and the West. This is an ongoing discussion of the best spots for grub and pints you'll encounter along the roads to the mountains. If you have suggestions or reviews, please post them in this thread and I'll add them to the map.

Highway 2 - Sultan Bakery. It's a great place to stop for breakfast on your way out for a trip. Excellent, gigantic, and very cheap doughnuts, and very good egg scrambles and the like. Also, the worlds biggest breakfast sandwiches.

On Hwy 2 there is a BBQ place that Nathan and my roomate Mike rave about. It is sold out of a school bus in the parking lot of the reptile zoo near and around (East of?) Sultan. Anyone else know of this joint and if it is still around?

Oh, also, if you're out Eastern WA past Ellensburg, make sure to stop at Tacos Chalitos, a mostly permanent taco bus that's cheap, delicious, and has a really interesting interior in which you can eat in the adjoining building. It's on the main drag, north of I-90.

Not that you have a whole lot of choices, but the Mazama general store has fantastic fresh scones in the morning. I have heard they make other great food as well, so worth checking out if you are in Mazama.

Gustav's in Leavenworth is great for some German sausages and beer. They only have outdoor seating, but on a nice day that is a good thing.

I've added a reference to the famed taco truck in the small town of George, off of I-90. Sadly it was already closed when we stopped there on the way back from Spokane, but I've heard rave reviews.

Mount Baker Highway (WA-542)

Milano's in Glacier. Good and filling Italian food.

South of I-90

Wa-706 Between Ashford and Longmire

Copper Creek Inn. They have a bacon and egg cheeseburger that's two meals on a bun.

I always love to stop by Fat Smitty's on my way back from the N Olympics. It's a burger joint off highway 101 just north of the 101-104 intersection.

Also that one burger place/antique shop in Forks. Yeah that place is great.
