I needed some skoolin today so I went to the races. Translated to non-jon speak this means I headed to Beacon for the WA State Downhill Championships in order to gain some skills photographing bikers. Nice lenses and a good camera would be ... well nice, but I made do with what I had. Focus tracking, pro lenses and bodies just make things easy. We all know how great it is to do things the hard way. Here are the results of dirtbag gear and a beginner behind the lens.

I showed up to school like usual, late. Most of the racing was done but I caught the jump competition. I found both of these quite challenging to shoot; I hope to improve as time goes on and I have a chance to attend more "classes". On a funny note, after the race all of the photogs were lined up at one spot after the jump for the big airs. I shot from one place then moved to another .. checked out the wise men's lair then moved on to another ... soon I had followers. Ha, I don't know what I'm doing and these people with several thousand dollar lenses are following me! Funny. So I moved to another spot, more followers!

A big round of props go out to my boy Scott who was forced to sandbag per NORBA regulations. Way to clean up buddy :)
