A few weeks ago, I went mushroom picking at Stampede Pass with Bryce, Jule, and her brother. The area had been harvested earlier in the day, which wouldn't have bothered us so much had it not been for the large amounts of trash left behind by the inconsiderate schmucks. (We had to extinguish one of their campfires too.) Anyway, not knowing much about wild mushrooms, I picked entirely boletes. The small ones were good; I avoided the larger ones, which tended to be rotten and maggoty.

At home, I sauted the mushrooms in olive oil and added parsley, pine nuts, garlic, and feta cheese. Served on top of linguini, the result was quite tasty!

Jule should have a picture or two.
