Maybe this is obvious to other people, but I've found that taking 600-800 mg of ibprofen just before you go to bed does wonders for injuries. I assume that this reduces swelling right at the time when your body is healing the most.

because of my problems, taking 400-600mg before activities is what was recommended to me. This helps to prevent inflammation that could then induce further inflammation. But that site, Jim, is great. Some of the other sites that it links to about training for climbing are good too. A bunch of good info out there!

Thanks for the link Jim! Another good resource recommended to me for climbing injury info is Dr. Julian Saunders: http://www.drjuliansaunders.com/ and http://rockandice.com/articles/ask-doctor-j.
I follow a pretty strict post-climbing icing regimen, which has helped a lot in moderating finger joint problems for me.
