Aaron Zabriskie and a few other SMR folks have offered to do a self-rescue class for the club this quarter - this is an awesome opportunity, especially as we (hopefully, sometime soon) move into rock season.

Aaron asked me what timing would be optimal for the club members, a full weekend, a single-day weekend event, an evening or two? I'd like to get a feel for who's interested in what, so please post here if:

1) you're interested
2) what timing would work best for you

1) I am interested.
2) I'm open to anything but I'll put my vote in for a weekday evening or two.

I think the timing depends on what is in store for the class. If it requires going out to a rock wall, then a full day on the weekend might make more sense. If it could be done at the mounties wall, a couple evenings would likely be preferable. Can we get more info about that?

A great resource for self rescue techniques is the ; we used excerpts from it in the self rescue course I took. Of course nothing can substitute for actual practice, so this is a great opportunity to learn from the experts. I've only had to use my self rescue skills a handful of times, but boy was I glad I knew them then...

Evan - Aaron has made it pretty clear that he's willing to be very flexible in what the class would be like, so if a day on rock is something that people would like to do (and have the time to commit), then we could do that. Conversely, if week nights are better, then I imagine we'd practice inside and then go out to the mounties wall.

Ultimately, it comes down to people in the club's availability and desires - once I get a feel for it, I'll talk to Aaron and design a class.

1) Interested.
2) Prefer weekend daytime, but whatever* works.

Thanks for organizing, Ava!

*hopefully not too early if weeknights are the consensus.

1)I'm definitely interested.

2)A weekend day would work. I'm also good with a couple evenings if the earliest they start is 6pm.

1). In light of the fact that my parents have chosen to nickname me "the absentminded professor," I'm definitely interested.

2). Weekend day(s) would be best. I'd like to have the opportunity to practice on real rock if possible.

I am quite interested. The only time that I would be less available is Tues Evenings after 7:00. But generally after 6pm an other day would be best. Weekends are also a no go. Work... ya know? When might we know the details?

I'm interested. Probably prefer a weekend day, otherwise Monday or Tuesday evenings.

I'm definitely interested.
A weekend day would be best, but I could do a few weeknights, as long as they don't start before 6.

Wow, this looks super popular.

I'm down as well if there is still space.

Pretty flexible schedule so anything should work.
