Would like to spend the day out in the mountains on Sunday and thinking about climbing Mt. Pugh, off the Mtn. Loop. Open to other destinations, but not feeling particularly creative at the moment and just looking for a solid day out.

Pugh is about 14 miles RT, with 5000ish feet of elevation gain. Probably leave Seattle around 0600, back later in the evening.

Crampons, ice axe, helmet. Have room for two more in the car.

Also up for other day trips, but, as mentioned, not feeling particularly creative in choosing them. Post or PM if interested in coming along.

Sounds good to me. If you want to do something else, I've been thinking about Argonaut Peak in the Enchantments for a while.

Dammit. I'm still down for the original idea.

Where did you check to see current access conditions?

There was a post over on nwhikers.net last night.

I like the idea of Pugh (since I'm pretty much coming off the couch and not really excited about sketchy rock or an uphill bar fight through slide alder), so let's just plan on that.

Looks like access is still possible up 8 mile. But I'm also coming off the couch as far as mountains go, so Pugh is good for me.

See you guys at 6:00 at 65th P&R?

Just found out that the Mtn. Loop is open to Barlow Pass.

Any interest in having a go at Morning Star? 4th time might be the charm for me...

Little bit of brush and a bit more technical than Pugh, but still pretty fun. Either way works for me.

Regardless -- 65th P&R at 0600 sounds like a good plan.
