Hi -

Looks like I missed Val's awesome Vantage trip last weekend - I went last year and it was good fun. Depending on the weather, is anyone interested in Vantage this weekend? Or anywhere else, including Exit 38 for the day.

Transportation: I have a Honda civic, and can take 3 other people.

Time: Would be up for leaving early on Sat if we go to Vantage and coming back Sunday evening.

Gear: I have a 60m rope, draws (~ 9) and personal gear.

I'm trying to get my lead head back but would be up for 5.8, 5.9, upto 5.10a, and will follow harder stuff. I like trad but don't have gear so if you have gear and are looking for a partner, I'd be up for that as well.

Hey Jasmine,

I am (as usual) hoping to get out and crag this weekend. I can probably only do a Sunday trip (I could possibly drive out Sat afternoon and climb a bit before it gets dark). I'd be interested in hitting up Leavenworth for a little trad practice. I also know of a few good 5.8-5.10 bolted climbs there to help get your lead head back. Does Leavenworth sound OK to you? Perhaps we can rope in two more to share the carpool with....

I'm pretty interested in going climbing somewhere this weekend. I'll see if Grant wants to go, but if not I've got a rope and draws and would be looking for a climbing buddy.

Sounds like we have a group. Ben, let us know if Grant can join too. If not, hopefully we can find a 4th. I'm hoping for a little multipitch! I'll aim to be ready to leave at 2pm on Saturday, which should give us time for a quick evening climb before we set up camp! If you want to meet up and talk about the trip (and the awesomeness of Leavenworth rock), I'll be at the pub tonight.

Anyone else out there interested in this trip? Doesn't look like Grant can make it.

I'm super excited to try out a second new climbing place in as many weekends. I'd definitely be down for some multipitch. Leaving on Saturday afternoon works well for me.

Jasmine, the pub I speak of is Big Time. UWCC club members gather there every Wednesday at 6:30-8ish, you should drop by sometime!

As we just talked about, I am good to leave at 10am on Saturday instead of 2pm. Ben, is this good for you too? I was looking in the guidebook and found two areas that I'd like to climb at, thus needed more time in L-worth and somehow freed up my morning. They both have tons of options for sport climbing (and some trad too). I'm thinking of hitting up Clem's Holler on Saturday afternoon. It has a few great sport lines in the 5.8-5.10 range (up to 3 pitches long!). For Sunday, I've always wanted to check out Careno Crag. Careno Crag is a 4 pitch tall crag with 4 tiers, allowing you to mix and match pitches to choose your own adventure up the rock. There are both moderate trad pitches and nice looking 5.10 sport pitches on this crag (that way Ben can pick out a sport line to the top, while I play with my gear a bit). I bet the photo ops with this set-up will be amazing!!

I do have a guide book (actually 3 of them....)
I think that my forest service pass is still good, if not we can pick one up on the way there. I do know the area quite well and have a couple spots in mind where we can camp for free. Your stove would be great, bring that.

I'm also fine climbing as a group of three, but am still hoping to get a fourth member.... We just need someone that is a solid lead belayer and can follow 5.10... who's in?!
