This last weekend I started up the climbing route up to Mount Baring, and I was pleasantly surprised by the condition. Very little snow up to and on the ridge, but I got in over my head (at least when I was alone) once the real climbing up the mountain started. Here is my trip report: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=5409

I would like to get back up there if the snow doesn't move back in too much, and I was thinking of the next couple weekends. The mild winter has left very little snow down lower, but crampons and ice axe will be needed either way. This trip was the first that I used an ice axe, and it wasn't even needed for snow, just pine needles. It would be preferable to have someone who has been up before, or at least has experience with snow travel.

Post here if there is an interest. I can do the driving as long as you can make it up toward Lynnwood (which is easy by bus almost every day), and I will even throw in some after-climb beers to stash in the creek.
