Hi everyone! I am looking to hike up to Camp Muir on Saturday. I was thinking of heading out early-ish in the morning (7) to get an early start on the day. I haven't done it myself before, but as far as I understand its pretty straight forward.

Hi Jackie! If you have space in your car I would be interested in coming to hike.

The route is pretty straightforward in clear weather, but I would suggest bringing a copy of this

and a compass or GPS in case clouds roll in.

Spectacular. Mason will be coming with us as well (driving), so we will be 4 strong! Vivace is a spectacular idea. How about we meet at the Park & Ride at 65th near the shell/coffee shop at 7:30AM; we will be in silver mid 80's volvo ) (or Amittai you can meet us at Vivace by REI) at a quarter to 8.

Hi, I'm kind of new in town, so I have no idea where that Park & Ride is. I live at 52nd and Brooklyn, any direction tips?

Thanks!

This is kind of last minute, but can I join this excursion/any space left in transportation?

We'll have to sit 3 in the back, and I call shotgun :)

If no one else objects, then yes you are more than welcome!

Anyone have a parks pass? If not, plan to bring $ so we can split admission and gas :)

regarding equipment, ice axe?
how about crampons?

and if we're meeting at Vivace, how about either of the ones on Broadway?
They're just as easy to drive to, plus i can walk to them.

PS I call not-middle!

Can do- any preference?

And the snow is slush from the TR a week or 2 ago, so neither ice axe or crampons are needed. We can get mad at me later if I'm wrong.

i'm now going as a +1, so will drive my car as well (an early 90's silver volvo!),
which means there's space for more if need be.

still meet at Vivace? (the one on the N end of Broadway, in the Brix bldg, has more pastries...)

Last Sunday crampons and ice axe were definitely not needed, looks like the temp has been just above freezing this week too, so I'd say still probably not needed. Have a great time!

Sounds good. Ppl meeting at the P&R, be timely since we will be stopping on Cap Hill for some of the best coffee of your life.

Also, my friend who is on the search and rescue team on Rainier said the weather might be iffy tomorrow, so pack appropriately.

Forecast: http://www.atmos.washington.edu/data/ra ... eport.html

Also, it is a fee free weekend! http://www.nps.gov/mora/parknews/upload ... 202009.pdf Yay me for arbitrary date choosing.
