I want to do some uncomplicated, fairly quick, high-fun ski trips this spring and summer. The first one would be the old standard of going up to Camp Muir, and then the other old standards Adams and Helens when the trailheads melt out (July?). Let me know if you'd like to join me on any of these. I'd like to try Muir next weekend if the weather's decent (June 7 or 8). I'd also love to ski the loop around Mt Baker (Matt Peters did it a few years ago, the description must be somewhere on this site), and the Ptarmigan traverse. These are more ambitious objectives, and I probably won't get enough time off from work and family, but nevertheless, I want to fantasize about them.

wish I had seen your post yesterday... I went up to Muir today to test out my new AT boots with my splitboard

They held up well, no hot spots, no sore chins.

I'm going away for a few weeks, but I'll be back at the end of June and will want to go up the volcanoes when I get back...

I have also been contemplating the volcanoes. I would love to ski Adams or the Muir snowfield.
Other than maybe being free next weekend, the end of June-early July seems best. I will be gone for a few weeks but will be back by June 25th. Midweek and weekends...all the same...
Keep in touch...

Cool! Let's keep in touch and monitor conditions. And strike when La Nina forgets to make clouds for a day or two. I'll be constrained to mostly weekends, unfortunately. I'm still planning on Muir this coming weekend, or the next, depending on weather.

I've skied Mt Adams with the trailhead snowed in, it adds several miles of road/offroad slogging, but in return you get solitude. You teacher types will still be busy Father's day weekend though, so perhaps we should wait a few weeks.

I'll be gone the last week of June/first week of July, available the rest of the summer. By July, we might be able to get closer to Adams/Helens trailheads.
