Here's a template for the sort of information that you should post when planning a trip.

1. Meeting Place/Time

e.g. Burke Museum parking lot at 6:30 am.

2. Estimated Return Time

e.g.8-9ish depending on stop for dinner

3. Transportation Details

e.g. I have a car, but it's missing two tires, so it would be better if other people could drive.

4. Trip Details

Be as specific as possible regarding distance, elevation, requisite skills, and the comfort level required. This is easiest when you've been on a particular trip/route before. If you have any doubts, err on the conservative side. If you've been to a particular location before and have some pictures, consider posting those as well.

e.g. Hurricane Ridge to Mt. Chaval. 14 miles RT with 4000' of elevation gain. We'll be moving fast on rough terrain. Will be trying to maintain an ascent pace of ~1000'/hr. There will be some bootpath, but there will also be substantial portions of talus and some exposed ridge scrambling (class 2). Anyone coming on the trip should be in good physical shape and comfortable scrambling with exposure. If you're not sure if you'll be comfortable, send me a PM and we can talk in more detail.

Including a photo of the destination is a good way to get people excited about your trip.

5. Gear Required

For all but beginner trips, assume that everyone knows to bring the 10 essentials and appropriate clothing.

List more specialty gear as needed:
-ice axe
-crampons
-snowshoes
-skis/skins
-harness
-pickets
-etc.

e.g. Bring an ice axe as we will be traversing some steep, snow covered slopes.

6. Contact Info

Indicate how people interested in the trip should contact you (email/phone/PM/post).
