Tim's Testimony
I would like to share my testimony of how the Lord changed my life and
how
I have grown up as a Christian during my college years at the University
of Washington.
I grew up in a Christian home and was saved at a relatively young age.
I
went to church meetings every Sunday morning with my family and even
attended high school Christian retreats, but I never really had a heart to
seek after God or read the Bible. Nevertheless, God used my high school
years to bring me into a very wonderful personal relationship with Him.
The summer before college was a major transition from high school to
college. I had just had a life changing experience of Christ. John
7:37-38 gives a lot of meaning to this experience. "Now on the last day,
the great day of the feast, Jesus stood up and cried out, saying, If
anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes into Me, as
the Scripture said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living
water." That summer I tasted the living water and left my old past and
looked forward to my new future in Christ. Many of the things I had
learned about Christ were starting to become personally real to me. That
summer I got an understanding of God's purpose that I had never had
before; it was refreshing and new and sparked an even more intense desire
for God.
When I started college I got connected with Christian Students
Association
at the University of Washington. This made a huge difference to me during
my freshman year because I was able to meet with many Christians
throughout the week: one brother to pray together, another to read
spiritual material, and others for speaking the gospel to students. My
enjoyment during those months was unprecedented in my entire life. I also
began to read the Bible in a regular way, which had a big impact on my
spiritual life because it became my anchor in the Christian life. This
caused me to start burning for the Lord. I loved the Lord so much and
discovered that He was the greatest attraction in the universe. Jesus
Christ was the center of my life and I never wanted to go back to my old
life after having tasted something so fresh, wonderful, and new. Thank
You Lord.
