Vice President of Campus Affairs Duties - Acts as president in the absence thereof at any meeting, and shall inform the President and General Assembly of any matters of campus affairs. Name: Rachel Gillum A.K.A. “Latte” member of the VP3 "I graduated from Redmond High School in 2004 and am now a freshman at the University of Washington. As a three varsity sport athlete in high school, I absolutely love participating and watching athletic events and spending time with family and friends. I was actively involved in school as the ASB President and a plethora of other service organizations in my community. I attend the City Church and lead a Bible study here on the UW campus every week. Currently I am involved in Sisterhood and holds a seat in the ASUW senate. I love long walks on the beach and cuddling in front of a warm fire... but not as much as I love hoopin’ and Mexican food! Mmmm! (make sure it’s spicy! I’m a five star kind of girl)" Year: Freshman Major:Political Science What do you hope to achieve in your position this year: This year as Vice President of Campus Affairs, I plan on fulfilling all my responsibilities and beyond by insuring the success of the union by carrying through plans regarding campus affairs and connecting BSU with the students on campus, encouraging involvement. I want to see BSU have a more visible, influential presence on campus, working on behalf of the African American community here at the University of Washington. One piece of advice for new students: Be proactive in getting involved on campus. The more events you attend, and the more groups you get participate in, the more people you are going to meet, the more you will get out of your college experience, and the more fun you are going to have! What do you love about the UW: The free but deadly ice skating rink (also known as Red Square) What is an issue that you are passionate about: I’m scared of animals, I love football (Go Ravens!), and when I’m older I’ll be driving something similar to a black Mercedes CL500!
