Submit

Bricolage is now accepting submissions to its 25th edition, to be published in the spring of 2008.

Who
Anyone affiliated with the University of Washington: students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

What
We accept work in three broad categories:

Fiction (including subgenres, such as one-act plays, flash fiction, etc.)

Poetry
Visual Arts

Submissions should be kept to a maximum of 3000 words and must be original, unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere. No more than three submissions per category per individual.

How
Optional: Self-addressed, stamped envelope (with sufficient postage) if the submission is to be returned (namely for artwork, which can also be picked up by appointment in the Brico office at PDL A2H after acceptance and rejection notices have been sent out).

Written work: typed on white 8.5″x 11″ paper in 12pt Times or Times New Roman font (for scanning purposes), less than 3,000 words; for email submissions must be equivalent in Word attachment.

Artwork: submitted with protective wrapping, photography submitted as prints (no slides); for electonic submissions must be in JPEG or TIFF.

Save a copy of your submission for your own records.

*PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THE AUTHOR’S NAME ANYWHERE ON THE PIECE ITSELF. Separate sheet, stating author’s name, address, phone number, email, title of works and corresponding categories, and short bio (45 words or less).

 

Notification of acceptance will be announced the beginning of spring quarter. Further instructions will be given to those accepted at that time.
