This painting was done by "Imperial Boy", an artist I found in a book titled, "Comic Artists-Asia." The use of dark and light colors contrasting to form illusions of depth attracted my attention, along with the intricate details that were put into the scene.

First my eyes were drawn to the center of the image because of the brightness and the welcoming atmosphere that was created by the use of orange and yellow colors. The dark shadows around the edges of the painting accentuate the lighter colors all the more. It also frames the image and keeps the eyes from wandering away from the center and completely outside of the painting.

After looking at the painting for a while, I began to notice the little details that built the story behind the picture. It seems like there is a bustling market full of busy people when I look into the scene, but when I sit back and take in everything at once, I just feel a sense of warm welcome into a timeless, surreal fantasy.
