BasiliskII 68030 emulation a success!
This is cool. Me and Ericn have been playing with classic macs all day, and i just got BasiliskII to emulate my IIsi. Heres a ROM image if you need one. Um, don't distribute that too widely. People seem touchy about throwing roms around online.
I also got a rom image for my Macintosh SE. Basilisk doesnt support this processor but Mini vMac does (plus sound!!!). Unfortunately its in monochrome.
Some other things you might want to have if your are trying to emulate:
- A System disk running OS 7.5.
- A keycode file which maps OSX keycodes (which seem to be quite weird) into valid apple keycodes. Note that this file was made from a 15" powerbook keypad with basiliskII running from X11. They codes are based off of the MacX codes from the example file, but most of the modifiers and such had to be changed.
- If you have to change keybindings I recommend Frank Olschewski's KeyCode [download].
Programming progects to work on. Suggestions are nice. Untill i reinstall mysql, just email them.
If you read MegaTokyo (and you know you all should)
