Shawn Faske, President

Shawn started his career in R&D.  His scientific work on cystic fibrosis and tuberculosis has been published several times.  Having played an instrumental role in the start-up of Koronis Pharmaceuticals and the FDA submission of a first-in-class HIV drug, Shawn pursued a career in management.  Over the last six years, he has held various positions developing genomics and imaging systems capital equipment markets to drive innovation in the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries.  Shawn holds a B.S. in Molecular Genetics and is completing his Full-Time MBA in Finance and Marketing.

 
Dan Freeman, VP of Events dan

Dan Freeman is an Evening MBA candidate, class of 2010, and a concurrent Ph.D. candidate in the chemistry department.  Previously, Dan earned a BS in chemistry from the UW, cum laude.  Dan’s interests and experience lie in infectious disease and cancer research, from drug development to studying mechanisms of gene regulation and drug resistance.  Dan would like to leverage his education and experience to redefine the current drug development landscape to minimize risk and costs while maximizing efficiency.

Bruce earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Princeton University. He spent over a decade in Silicon Valley, at companies large and small, established and startup. At the University of Washington's Foster School of Business, Bruce is pursuing his MBA as well as Entrepreneurship and Global Business certificates, including a summer exchange program in Denmark. His current focus is on waste and renewable energy applications in non-industrial, distributed systems, as might be particularly meaningful in rural and third-world regions.

Eric has a BS in Microbiology from the University of Michigan and an MS in Biochemistry from the University of Washington.  He has worked on angiogenesis research for the past 7 years in Seattle.  He also plays baroque classical guitar and draws upon his past history working as a chef by maintaining a hobby for culinary adventure.
 
Tye Howell, Treasurer tye

Tye has a B.A. in Psychlogy, University of Washington (2002) with a focus on Research Methods and Statistics.  His background is in Health Care Project Management, Biomedical Research, and a Sales Summer internship at PhaseRx as a Business Analyst.   His interests are to strengthen ties between the Biotech Club and the local life sciences community, to expand the program's exposure nationally, and to utilize my network and experiences in the MBA program to acquire a position in the life sciences industry.
