Stefan Baums

I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Asian Languages and Literature of the University of Washington in Seattle. Together with the other members of the Early Buddhist Manuscripts Project, I investigate recently discovered Buddhist manuscripts written in the Kharoṣṭhī and Brāhmī scripts. I also study the collection of ancient Indian coins with Kharoṣṭhī and early Brāhmī inscriptions in the National Museum of Denmark (Nationalmuseet, Den kongelige Mønt‐ og Medaillesamling), and contribute to the study and paleographic description of Buddhist manuscripts in the Schøyen Collection. I am currently employed as a Predoctoral Research Associate on the Gāndhārī Dictionary project, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
