SeattleAuto.net to report on UW Formula SAE! |
On Saturday, November 22, the founders of SeattleAuto.net paid a visit to UW Formula SAE's quarterly team open drive. Founders and UW Alumni Cameron and Grant will be working on stories as well as other projects in the coming weeks and months to help promote UW Formula SAE in the Seattle automotive scene. We are very excited to build a solid, long lasting relationship with SeattleAuto.net !
SeattleAuto.net was launched in 2008 with the goal of reporting on local news that relates to Seattle traffic, driving laws and issues related to car ownership in the city. SeattleAuto.net intends to become a valuable resource for automotive information, featuring new car reviews, driving tips, insurance information and used car guides.
Check back for more updates and don't forget to checkout SeattleAuto.net for stories on UW Formula SAE. |

The 2008 University of Washington FSAE team is now pushing forward full-tilt! We have had quite a few new members join over the past few weeks, adding to the many returning members. The team is shaping up to be a very strong one. Design is the focus this quarter, and the team has gotten a great head-start. The chassis design has already been through several iterations as well as two physical mock-ups. New chassis regulations have dictated some major changes to several aspects, including the placement of the front dampers under the driver’s knees. The driver will also benefit from the change to a more upright driving position for better visibility. The chassis is nearing its final design phase and should represent a large step forward for the team. The Aero team, new this year, is doing some very cool stuff as well. Aerodynamic integration and a balanced, effective system is the goal this year. This includes a front and rear wing as well as an undertray and side-pods. There is a lot of work going into design already, and we are on our way to having a great aero package for the Team 20 car. Our first team-organized autocross on September 27th was a great success. Besides a major source of income, autocross events serve as valuable testing and training time for the team. Our new drivers got seat time in the 2008 car, posting quick times and showing great improvement. Further testing was also done on the 2008 aero elements with positive results. The autocross was a great start to what is shaping up to be an incredible year for UW Formula SAE. Check back for regular updates!
