Spring 2009
Club shoots have started already, but we've run into various scheduling conflicts this quarter. If there is nobody on the range at 7:30, it's safe to assume that the club shoot has been cancelled. We are working to resolve these situations as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. In the future, if we get enough advance notice, we will send an email alerting you of cancellations.
We now have FIVE Olympic style takedown recurves available for quarterly checkout by members. Two are lefties and three are righties. In order to check them out, you must have paid your dues and be able to consistantly hit a 40cm FITA target at 18m. If you are interested, contact Ken or Liz.

Hey Archers! We have great news: I would like to welcome our two new officers: Byron Kilbourne and Jodi Shi. They will be taking over as the new Quartermaster and Assistant Quartermaster, respectively. That means if you ever break an arrow, give Anya a break and go annoy Byron and/or Jodi! On another note, our annual Pumpkin Shoot is coming up. It will be held during the open shoot on October 26. It is a tradition that you wear your Halloween costume during our pumpkin shoot, so dress up. As an incentive, people who dress up will get first dibs on our pumpkins (and no, dressing up as a "college student" doesn't count). In other news, WE ARE PUTTING TOGETHER AN ARCHERY TEAM FOR COMPETITION. If you are interested in becoming a serious archer and taking part in tournaments with other colleges/universities, I highly recommend being a part of our team. Note that you must be a full member in order to take part. Email me at archers@u.washington.edu if you are interested. -Ken

We would like to thank the Kobe Archery Club for visiting our club shoot last night to practice the traditional Japanese style of Kyudo. For those of you who weren't there see their incredible demonstration, you really missed out. More pictures will be coming soon.

---=== SPECIAL EVENT ===--- The Kobe Archery Club is going to come visit during our club shoot on Wednesday, October 10! I know this is very short notice, but it would be great if everyone can come down to help us give them a warm welcome. They will be practicing with us, so this is a very rare chance to see the traditional Japanese style, Kyudo, being performed by skilled Kyudo archers. Come check it out!

Hi everyone, and welcome to the "new" Archery Club website. My name is Ken, and I'm your new Archery Club President, Quartermaster, Supervisor, and Webmaster. Club shoots will start up again for Autumn Quarter on Oct. 1st and open shoots will begin on Sept. 28. Sunday shoots will only be back by popular demand, so if you're interested, let one of the officers know. Please feel free to contact me at archers@u.washington.edu if you have any questions, comments, complaints, wishes, etc. concerning the club. Have fun and shoot safely, Ken
