IX.              New Business

-Guest Speaker: Franklin Lobb

Franklin Lobb, one of our alumni members came to tell us about a service opportunity. He needs 10-12 people to help out some boy scouts that sold popcorn. He needs us to organize popcorn pallets so the Boy Scout troops can pick up the popcorn and send them to their customers. Franklin would need us on November 20th from about 8am-12pm at the Kelly Goodwin Company in South Everett. They will supply the helpers with doughnuts!

- We will need people to work parking at the football game on Saturday at 8:30 in the morning until about 12:30pm. We need at least 7 people to work per game in order to receive the money for APO. There is also a game on November 6th and November 13th. Chris is also trying to plan other fundraising opportunities for APO. He was thinking that we could sell Seattle Storm tickets in the summer and next fall, but we need money now. So if anyone has any other fundraising ideas, please talk to Chris

General Business Meeting Minutes

November 10th 2004

President Nick Bautista presiding

I.                    Introduction

-Welcome

II.                 Old Business

-Trick or Can was a big success. We collected over 400 lbs of food for the University Food bank

-Chapter history project was a success. Many more pages where prepared for the scrap books from activities over the past year. Captioning still needs to be added.

-Another reminder about the Boy Scout service project and Fall Fellowship at Western Washington University. U of Oregon and U of Alaska are confirmed. CWU and WSU are still up in the air. Cost is $20.00 if you want a shirt, food is also included in this price but we will not get up there in time to eat with the rest of them.

-Another Reminder about the National Convention from December 27th to December 30th. If you are thinking of going talk to Nick ASAP! The registration cost goes up from $65.00 to $85.00 starting Nov 15. Travel cost goes up the longer you wait. The more people who share a room the cheaper it becomes. Distinguished Alumni Robert Hilliard will be there. If money is an issue please talk to Nick, because the chapter may be able to help you out.

III.               New Business

-Homeless project next Wednesday so talk to Jason if interested.

-We will have another rush event for this quarters pledge class. It is going to be at the University of Washington’s Pre Medical Fair in Mary Gates Hall Commons Wednesday November 17th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It will be hosted by Alpha Epsilon Delta (Pre-Medical honor society). We need people to help table so sign up with Nick.

IV.              Officer Reports

1.) President: Nick Bautista

-We are already planning our GBM times for next quarter. Even though almost everybody said that they could come to meeting in the evening it is evident that no one wants to do so. That being said we are going to try and hold meetings in the afternoon for winter quarter. Class registration has already started so everyone should have an idea what their schedule is starting to look like. Please tell Nick what times you would prefer for GBM’s next quarter.

-The chapter has now herd back from all the “active” brothers in the chapter now. So for those keeping a tally we “officially” have 16 actives and 2 pledges left over from last spring. This quarter’s pledge class size has yet to be determined.

-We have 2 free weekends this quarter (that do not have something already planed) on Nov 27th and Dec 4th. The 27th is the weekend right after Thanksgiving, but if enough people are available we will have a service project. Shir is in contact with several groups so keep on the lookout for those project announcements.

-Pledge Manuals are being handed out to actives now to refresh their memories on all the fun details of APO. Please take note of the toast song lyrics in the back.

-If you have ordered and/or received a chapter sweeter please pay Nick back. Each one was $45.00

-Please visit the chapter web page to stay updated, and reply to e-mails that pertain to chapter business if requested

-Due to the Patriot Act our bank account is now outdated. We are in the process of opening a new account under a non profit status. The current account will remain active until the process is compleate.
