I am a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at University of Washington in Seattle working with Maryam Fazel since 2010. I did my undergraduate in Electrical Engineering (control) and Mathematics at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran.

My main interest is in statistical learning. I pursue this through optimization and algorithm design. Machine learning and signal processing applications are main subjects of my work. I am also interested in game theory, mathematical neuroscience and control theory.

We run an interdepartmental seminar in optimization at UW, Trends in Optimization Seminar (TOPS). Contact me if you are interested in giving a talk.
