Boys and Books: Encouraging boys aged 9-13 to read
This is a FREE workshop for librarians, teachers and parents. Saturday, May 21st from 11 AM to 1 PM at the University Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Workshop participants will receive a FREE resource packet containing research findings and bibliography, list of books for boys, resource links, and strategies that can be immediately implemented by librarians, teachers and parents. Refreshments generously provided by SALA, the Student American Library Association. The workshop is based on an independent study which explores the social issues of boys ages 9-13 and determines how libraries and librarians, teachers, and parents might address those issues in a positive way.
