Portfolios
- Lynnea Erickson was in Mary Gates iSalon on Saturday
after the return of Portfolio evaluations to give results.
- Discussed in most recent Faculty Meeting.
- Faculty not satisfied with process.
- They hope to have a formal Q&A and criteria set up for
summer’s evaluations.
- Discussion of “My Portfolio” tool on catalyst.
21st Century Student Award
- 5 member panel including Amanda Hirst.
- decide over a weekend.
- no nominees on the panel.
- Announcement sent out announce what is a 21st
Century Student.
- Take nominations by e-mail/Catalyst.
- Prize.
- Gift certificate – under $100.
- Try to tailor it to the winner.
- Will announce winner at convocation.
- Will asked David Levy to do award certificate.
Classes
- Continuing concerns that some classes taught by non-iSchool
faculty are not being molded around iSchool goals.
iSalon Phone
- Concerned that is being monopolized for long phone
calls.
- Amanda will check with Dowell to see if there is a
formal policy.
Debra Gilchrist’s Talk
- Went well, around 10 people.
Joe Janes
- Went very well, around 40 people.
- Entertaining.
Spring Fling
- Looking at a budget around $2600-$3000
- Still trying to lock venue
- Publicity
- Invitations to Faculty/Staff
- Announcements in classes the week before
- Especially target evening, MSIM, Information, Phds.
Student Services
- No more paper pick-up in Student Services beginning
Autumn 2002.
