I am a fifth year PhD student working with Professor Ali Shojaie on penalized regression methods for high dimensional data. In particular, I enjoy working on developing methods and establishing convergence rates for nonparametric, high dimensional, generalized additive models. Other research interests include adaptive nonparametric methods and empirical processes particularly, concentration and maximal inequalities. My goal is to develop methods for supervised learning problems with applications to a wide range of fields, including by not limited to medicine and public health.

Originally from Pakistan, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Probability and Statistics from McGill University, Montreal. My undergraduate project, under the supervision of Professor Russell Steele, focused on causal inference for longitudinal data. At McGill, I was also exposed to functional data analysis, particularly MCMC methods for differential equation models.
