It is hard to turn down a good cause, especially when Fraternity men are involved. Alpha Gamma Delta participates in many different philanthropies sponsored by other Fraternities and Sororities on campus. Philanthropies are a great way to keep in touch with fellow "Greeks" and also support many worthy causes, including Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research, Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Research, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Our own philanthropy draws a large number of participants and a good crowd. Each winter, Alpha Gamma Delta puts on a great Mr. Greek competition for all of the local Fraternities. Mr. Greek is an excellent opportunity to socialize with Fraternity men as they casually compete for the crown. It also enables our Iota chapter to consistently raise over $10,000 to support our favorite charities. Since 1979, diabetes has been Alpha Gamma Delta’s philanthropic focus. Additionally, we contribute to the Treehouse Foundation to help foster children. Mr. Greek is a lot of fun for the chapter and Fraternities!

Miss Greek Every year, the gentlemen of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at the University of Washingto host their philanthropy, the Miss Greek pageant, to benefit the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research center. As shown in Our Purpose, Alpha Gamma Delta strives to "welcome the opportunity of contributing to the world's work in the community where [we are] placed because of the joy of service thereby bestowed and the talent of leadership multiplied". Over the past years, our contestants have consistently been top qualifers, taking the crown three years in a row in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 1st Runner Up in 2006. Last year Brittany Mulvahill was a top in fundraisingWay to go, Iota Chapter!
