The Association of Future Leaders (AFL) provides opportunities for networking and building leadership skills for all University of Washington, Tacoma students.

Our Mission

We are committed to promoting an interactive environment where future leaders develop their leadership skills, explore career prospects and networking opportunities, and continuously contribute to an ethical business community.

	Meetings are held twice per quarter in the Fall, Winter and Spring. To receive e-mail updates of meetings and events from the AFL, please send your contact  information to aflofuwt@uw.edu (registered UW students only) or join us on Facebook to received announcements of meetings.

◊ Lunch with Leaders
	We invite leaders from the community to join us for information discussions over lunch. Members suggest which leaders from business, government, and nonprofits they would like to meet. 

◊ Leadership Skills
	Learn and practice leadership skills like the “30 second introduction” of yourself, strategies for working effectively on teams, overcoming barriers to leadership, and motivating people.

◊ Speed Networking
	An annual event where we bring together students and employers to rotate through a series of short conversations. 

◊ Mock Interviews
	Practice your interviewing skills with real human resource professionals and hiring managers.  

◊ Tours and Activities
	Get out into the community, tour businesses, meet new people, and volunteer.
