About Me
I am a doctoral candidate in Political Science at the University of Washington and a graduate fellow at the Center for American Politics and Public Policy. I specialize in political institutions and public policy processes. I hold Ph.D. concentrations in public policy and management and political methodology. My dissertation considers how agenda setting dynamics shape alignments between the parties .
My research agenda broadly reflects my interest in how the substance of policy is both shaped by as well shapes political dynamics. See my research page for a description of my dissertation and other projects.
When not working on my research, I enjoy exploring the mountains of the Pacific Northwest (especially on foot), traveling (Turkey is my favorite destination so far) and taking advantage of the art and culture in Seattle (Wagner's Ring series is a favorite). Once upon a time, before becoming a graduate student, I enjoyed reading fiction of all sorts. My all time favorite books are Lord of the Rings, Atonement, and Catch 22.
