Philanthropy at AED
by Philanthropy Chair Natalie Minas
AED’s Sweet and Simple Philanthropy Policy: Members must attend two volunteer events per quarter, and one of them has to be club-wide.
Fundraising: There will be one large fundraising project every quarter that is donated to a charity. These events count towards the volunteer requirement, as well.
At each general meeting, I’ll describe the volunteer events for the upcoming weeks and pass out informational handouts. I’ll also send out one email per week with the volunteer opportunities so there’s no excuse not to know about any volunteer events J . Members can then sign up via email for the events and I’ll send a reminder text/email the day before the event and if there’s a possibility for carpooling. The club-wide events will mainly be on the weekends in order to accommodate the most members. Most of the events are health and service oriented, but there will often be other types of events to keep things interesting. There’s always room for improvement so if you have any volunteer ideas, don’t hesitate to contact me!
The member with the most volunteer hours at the end of the quarter receives a prize!
