Welcome to the site for the UW Student Chapter of AcademyHealth!
Mission Statement
AcademyHealth is an organization dedicated to advancing the fields of health services research and health policy.
The UW Student Chapter of AcademyHealth aims to support the goals and efforts of the National AcademyHealth organization, as well as the students of the University of Washington.
The UW Student Chapter strives to:
- Acquaint students with the fields of health services research and health policy in an informal/collegial way
- Provide learning opportunities and career development through interaction with health services researchers and public health and health policy practitioners based on student interests and needs
- Further communication between various departments and programs
- Organize events:
- Faculty/Student Mixers
- Skill-building events (conference know-how, scholarship/grant applications, research tools, balancing work and family, etc.)
- Special Academy Health-focused events (organized viewings of methods workshops, alumni receptions at Annual Research Meetings, etc.)
