Jeanine is a senior majoring in accounting with a management option and anthropology minor. She is expected to graduate in Winter 2012. She had previously served as the Membership Director and General
Officer in ABSA. Other than serving as an officer in ABSA, she
volunteers at Denise Louie Education Center as a volunteer
coordinator.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and watch her favorite TV shows. She also loves to travel to different locations and drink bubble tea.
During her presidency at ABSA, she would like to help to provide meaningful and useful events for ABSA members, along with achieving ABSA's mission.
Alex is the Vice President of ABSA for year 2011 and 2012. She is in charge of providing support all around to the executive team and is responsible of clearly representing and passing on ABSA's information to the members. Alex's goal in ABSA is to communicate effectively and provide support to the officers, members and other students about ABSA.
Going into her 2nd year as a University of Washington student, Alex is planning to major in International Studies. Currently, she is taking her prerequisite courses to enter the Jackson School of International Studies. Besides being an officer of ABSA, Alex worked at Consulate General of Korea during this summer, and is also a Facilitator in FIUTS and a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Alex loves reading mystery novels, watching movies, drawing close people around her, and playing piano and violin in the orchestra.
As Communications Director of ABSA, Penny bridges the gap between ABSA's members and the organization to ensure smooth communication between the different groups. She plays a crucial role in the coordination of planned events by ensuring that objectives are met, as well as in assisting members of the executive teams in their duties. She looks forward to increasing awareness of the organization at the UW, as well as extending networking opportunities to ABSA's members.
Penny is currently in her junior year at the University of Washington pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She’s also considering getting a second BA degree in Mathematics. In addition to ABSA, Penny is also involved in Undergraduate Women in Business as well as National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Penny loves traveling with friends and family. In her free time, she loves listening to the music and spending time at the seaside.
As the Director of Finance, Mandy is responsible for ABSA's overall financial health. She oversees the management of banking records and transactions, budgeting for events, reimbursements, accounts payable and receivables, and membership dues. She strives to help ABSA prosper financially in order to provide more opportunities for ABSA members and its community.
Mandy is currently a senior at UW pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Information Systems. She will be an intern at Brown Paper Tickets doing market research as well as creating a market entry model. She has done couple consulting projects in the past year and is planning to become a consultant in the future. In addition to ABSA, Mandy is also a member of AIESEC Seattle and currently an exchange participant manager in the Out Going Exchange team. She is planning to go on an exchange after she graduates.
Besides school, Mandy enjoys traveling and trying different food from different places. She also involves in community services and volunteers her time doing environmental clean-up or helping at local food banks.
As the Director of Marketing, Hattie will be in charge of ABSA’s events promotion. Along with the creative director, Hattie is going to create great promotion pieces with attractive and creative ideas for the future events. In addition, Hattie makes interactions with students from diverse cultural backgrounds to recruit and retain ABSA members.
Hattie is currently a junior at UW pursing her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a minor in Earth and Space Science, planning to do a retail management certificate in Foster School of Business. As a multilingual speaker who can currently speak Mandarin, English, Japanese and she is now planning to study French for she takes a great interest in the fashion industry. In the summer of 2010, she went to Ireland for a marketing themed exchange program. Hattie had interned previously at a local bank in China, and is seeking for more opportunity to gain more international business experience.
Hattie enjoys discovering sparkling things in her world and traveling for she always has the dream to leave her fingerprints around the world. She is also fond of reading magazines, watching Japanese anime and spending time with her family and friends.
As the Director of Membership, Cici is accountable for the student membership programs. Her responsibilities include: recruiting new members from different majors who are interested in business, maintaining and updating member’s information and records, and creating e-Newsletters which enclose business events and job opportunities in UW or out in other cities and countries. Her goal in ABSA is to promote and support the awareness of Asian culture in the business world and provide resources for leadership and professional development to members.
Cici is a senior majoring in business administration with accounting and finance options. Moreover, she is an active member and the Chair of Service in Beta Alpha Psi (National Accounting Honorary Organization). In the past summer, she interned at a global accounting firm, Crowe Horwath, in Hong Kong. After graduation, she is planning to pursue her CPA certification and work for an accounting firm in Seattle.
On the other hand, Cici likes hanging out with friends and volunteering in her spare time. She enjoys chatting with people with different backgrounds. Please feel free to say hi if you see her around on campus.
